I founded this firm in 2007 to concentrate on helping people with debt collection abuses, unlawful car repossessions, debt collection defense and other consumer protection law matters. Since our formation, we have helped relieve California consumers of nearly $100 million in debt that could not legally be collected. We have also been able to collect millions of dollars in damages for our clients, in consumer law and general civil litigation matters.
My firm has made and continues to make a determined effort to better people’s lives when faced with an unfair business practice. Our clients have suffered a loss of money or property, and sometimes both. Yet, I have come to realize that other harms resulting from unfair business practices, such as emotional distress and embarrassment, can be equally or more devastating to individuals than any loss of money or property. My firm has been and will continue to be a positive force for change in achieving compensation for economic and non-economic damages for injured consumers.
As to my credentials, I have over a decade of experience litigating complex consumer protection and business litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout California. I have litigated cases of all sizes, from the initial complaint through trial and appeal, in nearly every major courthouse in California. I have litigated dozens of class actions on the defense side, and I have served as class counsel for plaintiffs.
I started my legal career with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a Wall Street law firm and recognized leader in defending consumer protection and class action litigation. I left Stroock in 2004 and joined Buchalter Nemer, a multi-state defense firm based in Los Angeles, where I continued to focus on defending consumer protection and class action lawsuits. I believe that my knowledge of the defense side of consumer protection cases is invaluable to clients of my firm.
I received my J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida in 1999, where I served as the Executive Articles Editor of The Florida Journal of International Law. I received my B.A., with honors, from the University of Colorado in 1994. I am an active member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, and I have been named a Rising Star by SuperLawyers.
